With the growing trend for larger wheel and tire combinations on the JK Wrangler, ARB’s engineers have designed a new tire carrier. While the factory rear door can rapidly fatigue under the weight of oversized tires, both the ARB JK Wrangler Rear Bumper and Tire Carrier have been designed with these loads in mind. The large pivot spindle removes almost all of the weight of the tire from rear door, reducing stress on the factory hinges while still providing synchronized opening and swing out. The tire carrier utilizes an adjustable turnbuckle with dual rod ends to connect the wheel carrier to the vehicle’s rear door. When the door is closed, the wheel carrier is securely held within a rubber cradle to ensure a strong and quiet fitment. This system ensures that the tire carrier swings away seamlessly synchronized with the vehicle’s rear door.
