Grant’s racing roots run deep. The company started in 1922 manufacturing and distributing engine overhaul kits, piston rings, and valve spring inserts. When a set of those piston rings helped set a Bonneville Salt Flats speed record in 1949, the company’s name became a familiar sound among go-fast enthusiasts. A dominating reputation soon followed for Grant, allowing the company to rise alongside America’s obsession with racing. In 1952, founder Gerry Grant helped design a specially-prepared Ferrari that ran at the Indy 500.Three years later, the company became an official sponsor of the prestigious Bonneville 200 MPH Club.
Throughout the 1960s, Grant Products managed to develop a specialty steering wheel for Karting, introduce the first custom steering wheel for the automotive aftermarket, and become a founding
member of SEMA. Not to mention, the company introduced the famous "Flamethrower" Ignition and develop Grant Safety Helmets.
Since its mid-century innovative flurry, Grant Products has continued to lead the market on new designs, materials, and construction techniques, always pushing its specialty segment a little further. The most recent addition to its product lineup includes the “Suede Series” and “Gripper Series” wheels. Democratic in their development, these two lines target all drivers and all vehicles. “Suede Series” offers the most comfortable feel and an outstanding look with custom stitching and colors, while “Gripper Series”delivers a strong grip for the most aggressive of all drivers in most conditions.
