The slotted rotors are designed to improve braking performance in all situations by addressing some shortcomings of a conventional brake rotor. The slots that are machined into the face of the brake rotors act as an outlet for heat that is created from the friction of the pad contacting the rotor. This decreases the chances of warping the rotors. The slots also assist in helping gasses to escape from the face of the rotor.
