It features a non-contact Hall effect sensor for increased durability and a proprietary Sensor Shield butterfly shaft seal installed into the throttle body casting. This exclusive additional seal isn't on the original equipment design, and seals the critical area that houses the gear train and electronics, better protecting them from debris and oil intrusion. Note that the installation and calibration of the original equipment or any aftermarket version of this throttle body may require an authorized scan tool that can interact with the secure gateway.
